At Forster Tuncurry Physiotherapy and Allied Health, our dedicated Lymphoedema Clinic offers specialised care to support those living with or at risk of lymphoedema. We provide preventative strategies and comprehensive treatment including complete decongestive therapy to help reduce swelling, restore movement, and improve quality of life.

What is Lymphoedema?

Lymphoedema is a chronic condition caused by a blockage or dysfunction in the lymphatic system, resulting in swelling, typically in the arms or legs. It can occur following cancer treatment (such as surgery or radiation), due to vascular issues or as a result of lipoedema. Without proper management, it can lead to discomfort, restricted mobility and increased risk of infection.

Our clinic supports recovery after surgery or cancer treatment and helps clients regain confidence in daily life. We also focus on education and self-management to reduce the risk of developing lymphoedema in the future.

Our Lymphoedema Services Include:

  • Pre- and Post-Operative Assessments

  • Assessment and Treatment

Addressing affected limbs, scar tissue, and radiation-related fibrosis.

  • Education & Prevention

  • Self-Management Training
