At Forster Tuncurry Physiotherapy & Allied Health we offer a variety of classes tailored to suit different needs, abilities, and goals. Each class is designed to support your journey towards feeling stronger, moving better and living a more active, independent life.

Parkinson's Power

This class aims to help early diagnosed clients who are still ambulant. More dependent clients can still benefit from one on one treatments in the rehab gym. Our classes focus on:

  • Showing Parkinson’s clients strategies and techniques to tackle “freezing”, rigidity and tremor

  • Strategies to help with loss of stability with their postures

Cardiac Rehab

This class is led by expert physiotherapists and combines supervised exercise, education and lifestyle advice to improve heart health, build physical fitness and reduce the risk of future cardiac events. Cardiac rehab helps people regain confidence, return to daily activities safely and make long-term changes for a healthier life. This class is suitable for people who are:

  • Post cardiac surgery

  • Post cardiac event

  • Living with heart failure

Falls Prevention Classes

According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare falls are the leading cause of injury-related hospitalisation in older Australians and the most common cause of injury deaths. At Forster Tuncurry Physiotherapy & Allied Health we recognise the serious impact falls can have on older Australians and offer dedicated falls prevention classes designed to reduce risk, build confidence, and support safer, more independent living.

We offer two different falls prevention classes; Balance U and Stronger U which are specially designed programs that help older adults improve balance, strength, coordination and confidence to reduce the risk of falls.

Run by our qualified physiotherapists these falls prevention classes support seniors to stay active, independent and steady on their feet, helping them live with greater freedom and less fear of falling.

Stronger U

A strength and conditioning class ideal for seniors who are more independent and looking to increase functional outcomes and strength. The class combines strengthening and reconditioning with some balance work This class is suitable for people who are:

  • Trying to maintain or increase strength strength as they age

  • Wanting to keep active

Balance U

A Falls Prevention Class is designed to help individuals, particularly older adults, reduce the risk of falling and improve their balance, strength, and coordination. The purpose of these classes is to provide exercises, education, and strategies to prevent falls and keep participants safe in their everyday activities. This class is suitable for higher risk clients with:

  • Increasing frailty

  • Decreasing mobility, strength and balance

  • Post fall

  • Post hospitalisation

ONERO

A program designed for people with osteoporosis or osteopenia (low bone mineral density). The program is supervised weight and impact training which is brief but at a high intensity. The evidence-based program is designed to stimulate bone development and reduce the risk of osteoporotic fractures and falls. Read more
