Research has demonstrated that only certain types of exercise improves bone health. That's exactly why Forster Tuncurry Physiotherapy & Allied Health offer the Onero™ Program.

Osteoporosis weakens bones, making them more likely to break. Whilst there’s no cure for the condition, the right approach can help protect and strengthen your bones and slow the rate of deterioration. Onero™ is an award winning evidence-based exercise programme designed for people with osteoporosis or osteopenia (low bone mineral density). It is an evidence-based exercise programme designed specifically to prevent osteoporotic fracture by stimulating bone development and preventing falls in at-risk individuals such as postmenopausal women and older men with low to very low bone mass.

Classes are led by a qualified physiotherapist, ensuring all exercises are performed safely and effectively.

What to expect with the Onero™ classes?

  • Small group classes

  • High intensity resistance and impact training (tailored to be safe for people at risk of osteoporatic fracture)

  • Weigh lifting to strengthen bones in a safe and targeted way

Before joining the Onero™ class you must complete an assessment with our qualified physiotherapist. During this assessment we will:

  • Assess your current health

  • Review your DEXA scan (Bone Mineral Density Scan) if applicable

  • Add you to the worldwide research data if applicable

Our treating physiotherapist Hannah Sutton is certified to deliver ONERO.
